I have taught private violin and viola lessons in the Greensboro/High Point area since 2002, when I founded the violin program at St. Mary's Music Academy in High Point. Building on the overwhelming success of my program, I left St. Mary's and opened my own studio at Deep River Friends Meeting in 2007. Additionally, I have taught violin and viola at Jones Elementary School, Westchester Academy, and Forsyth Country Day School.
I am also a dedicated orchestral teacher, and founded Allegro Strings with Greensboro Youth Symphony. I conducted within the GSYO program from 2005 to 2009, directing first Allegro Strings then Youth Strings. I have also taught at NC School of the Arts Summer camps 2007 and 2008.
I am originally from Venezuela, where I was educated in the Venezuelan National Youth Orchestra System, or "El Sistema". The purpose of the system is not only to learn, but to teach as well. As I grew and progressed, I was made to teach younger members when I was still a teenager. During the next several years, I continued to teach in many youth conservatories within the system.
It is a pleasure for me to teach. The central focus of my teaching method is the belief that every student is an individual, with their own unique strengths to be developed. Individualized private lessons are an opportunity for both student and teacher to learn and discover the power of music.
The dynamic of one-on-one instruction allows each student to grow and advance at their own pace.
I believe wholeheartedly in the amazing potential of young people, and know that they are capable of great things. As a result, I am a dedicated and determined teacher.
I expect a lot from my students, and appreciate involved parents.
